felt that "privacy legislation" is too restrictive and creates a barrier to providing effective services to your clients?
If you have answered “yes” to the questions and your job/organization focuses on providing services to children, youth, adults, and families this new provincial training initiative can help…
Information Sharing is a cross-ministry training initiative created to address concerns raised by organizations and service providers throughout Alberta on the impact of privacy legislation and their ability to share information with each other. The training sessions provide information about legislated responsibilities and answer questions about the impacts of parent (program) and privacy legislation on service providers in government, public, private sector and non-profit organizations.
The intent of the training sessions is to ensure that there is a common understanding of how the various pieces of program and privacy legislation allow for the delivery of services to children, youth, adults, and families in an integrated or collaborative manner. In other words, starting with a “convince me” rather then a “no”.
The one-day training sessions provide the opportunity for cross-sectoral participants (Government, Public and Private Sector, including Non-Profit) to work together through a number of scenarios and learn a decision making process that they can apply to situations they come across in their day to day work environments. The training is offered throughout Alberta and is free to all participants.
